The Beyond the Book Speaker Series brings experiential learning out of our classroom and into our community.
It is an opportunity for the entire community to engage in programs and learning that reaches beyond the regular curriculum and class work, out in to the world.
Community members are invited to engage with educators, parents and students around topics that are happening inside and outside the classroom.
The first event in the Speaker Series welcomes:

This all-ages event is free, yet seats are limited.
Project VOICE uses spoken word poetry to entertain, educate, and inspire. Through award-winning performances and innovative workshops, Project VOICE promotes empowerment, improves language skills, and spurs creative collaboration in classrooms around the world. Project VOICE has a lasting impact; students come away with a higher motivation to create, a belief in their own voice, and a desire to share and listen to each other’s stories.
Sarah Kay is a spoken word poet, educator and entrepreneur. She is known for her TED Talk entitled If I should have a daughter and the moving way she presents her own story of metamorphosis.
