Volunteer work parties at the UW-REN site of the North Creek Forest provide great networking opportunities, an introduction to restoration ecology, and a fun way to spend time in the great outdoors!
1 - 2 pm Walk (or drive) to North Creek to cheer salmon on their journey upstream!
1-4 pm Celebrating the connection between healthy forests, clean water and great beer!
@12 noon and rest of the month!: Tapping of the North Creek Common, a Kentucky Common Ale brewed with wild-harvested spruce tips! By the pint and limited edition 22oz. bottle only. $1/pint and bottle goes to Friends of North Creek Forest to support education, stewardship and conservation programming!
@2:30 pm: Pub Talks! The Connections Between North Creek Forest and Southern Resident Killer Whales--and also a Hiker and Beer Lover's View on Forests :) Featured speakers from Friends of North Creek Forest and Beers at the Bottom.
Tools and gloves are provided at the events and activities range from invasive species removal to planting native species.Volunteers should dress in weather-appropriate attire.
Volunteers ages15 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Snacks and refreshments are provided!
