Originating in the Puget Sound in 1985, the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life has been a unique celebration of life in honor and in memory of those whose lives have been touched by cancer. It has been a place where friends, family and loved ones join to celebrate survivorship and to honor those who have lost the battle. Relay For Life involves individuals and teams from the Eastside community coming together to take turns walking the track or path for 12 to 24 hours at some of our most loved Eastside communities and schools while raising funds and awareness for the American Cancer Society
A party-like atmosphere prevails as team members camp out in these parks for the duration of the event to enjoy local music, food, fun, entertainment and activities while building camaraderie with fellow teammates and participants. Money is raised through team and individual fundraising along with support from our corporate sponsors to fund cancer research at institutes like the University of Washington and Fred Hutch, as well as supporting cancer patient services at local King County Hospitals.
Help us ignite our passion and paint the world purple as we continue to finish the fight against cancer! Join us TODAY!
